Highlight: Chris obtained a verdict of $1.2 million dollars for his client who was injured by a commercial trucking company. The only offer in the case was just prior to trial, where the defendant trucking company offered $5,000.00.
Chris brings over 28 years of experience to his clients, focusing on personal injury, motor vehicle negligence, premises, products liability, and wrongful death cases. He has helped thousands of people over the course of his career and won more than $19 million in settlements and verdicts in the last decade. He loves the challenge and responsibility of advocating for his clients to obtain the justice they seek.
Immediately following law school, he served as a Clerk for the Michigan Court of Appeals in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After leaving the Court of Appeals he practiced at his family firm in Kalamazoo, Michigan, for over a decade.
Prior to joining Ven Johnson Law, Chris practiced law in Florida for 20 years. Chris spent almost a decade practicing at Levin Papantonio, Thomas, Mitchell, Echsner and Proctor in Pensacola, Florida—a nationally-renowned Plaintiff’s law firm. During his time there, he consistently obtained among the highest annual total dollar amount of settlements for firm clients in the practice areas of personal injury and wrongful death. After leaving Levin Papantonio, he ran his own firm obtaining verdicts and settlements for his injured clients. Chris is Licensed in both Florida and Michigan.
Chris has been admitted to practice before all Michigan and Florida Courts.
Chris is a graduate of Valparaiso University School of Law graduating in the top quarter of his class and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Outside of work he enjoys traveling with his wife, skiing, biking and listening to live music, and he is an avid audiophile.
