As an eighth grader Burt took on multiple jobs to support his ailing mother, working until he became not just a truck driver, but owner of his own trucking company. Burt’s story was the American dream, until he lost everything when another truck ran him over. But after five years of fighting, we finally won justice together.
Karen’s husband Jerry was a crane inspector. Shortly after their one-year anniversary, Jerry died in the middle of an inspection because the plant continued operating cranes above his head. The company blamed Jerry for his death from the beginning, but after a difficult search we located the safety inspector whose testimony made the case.
