ATTORNEY AND COUNSELOR
P.855-VENFIGHTS
As part of her continuing advocacy for personal injury and civil rights clients, Carlye Reynolds is known for her dedication to representing survivors of sexual abuse and assault. In partnership with co-counsel, Carlye recently secured a $138.7 million settlement against the U.S. Department of Justice on behalf of survivors who were sexually abused by Dr. Larry Nassar.
Born and raised in the mountains of Northeast Georgia, Carlye earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia, graduating cum laude in 2016. As an undergraduate, Carlye balanced her academic achievements with athletic pursuits as a member of the UGA Bulldogs women’s soccer team.
Following graduation, Carlye moved to Michigan where she obtained her Juris Doctor from Michigan State University, once again graduating cum laude in 2021. While in law school, she participated in the Chance at Childhood Clinic and the Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute. She also served as a Peer Mentor for other law students and as a Research Assistant for Dr. Jeremy Francis during her 2L and 3L years.
In the summer of 2019, Carlye clerked for Magistrate Judge David R. Grand in the Eastern District of Michigan. Throughout the remainder of her time as a law student, she clerked for a full-service Michigan law firm, where she gained a comprehensive understanding of various practice areas.
Carlye joined Ven Johnson Law in May 2024, where she continues to focus on advocating for survivors. Committed to the fight for justice, Carlye strives for transparency and holds both the perpetrators of violent acts and the institutions that protect them accountable. She manages the legal process while working closely with each client to support them on their path toward healing.
When she’s not busy fighting the good fight, Carlye enjoys exploring new places with her husband, watching and attending sporting events (Go Dawgs), and traveling to see friends and family—especially her adorable nephew.
