A Michigan judge lifted a stay last week on a lawsuit brought by victims of catastrophic mid-Michigan flooding in 2020, ordering the state to file its first answer in the three-year-old case before the end of November.
A settlement has been reached between the estate of Collin Birnie, a Flint police captain who was killed in a head-on crash in early 2022, and the family of the teen driver responsible for the crash.
