Biography

Tom Carr is an attorney and counselor at Ven Johnson Law, where he focuses on personal injury litigation with an emphasis on appellate advocacy. His practice centers on briefing and arguing appeals and handling complex motions in both state and federal courts, playing a key role in shaping legal strategy and advancing cases toward meaningful outcomes for clients.

Originally from Rochester, New York, Tom earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with honors from Buffalo State College, where he also played collegiate football. He went on to earn his law degree from Michigan State University College of Law, where he served on the International Law Review as an editor.

Prior to joining Ven Johnson Law as a law clerk, Tom helped draft briefs and applications to appeal cases involving personal injury and auto no-fault cases in the Michigan Supreme Court and Michigan Court of Appeals.

Tom is an active member of the Michigan Association for Justice and serves on its Amicus Committee. In that role, he has authored multiple amicus briefs before the Michigan Supreme Court, addressing issues with broad implications for individuals seeking accountability through the civil justice system.

Outside the office, Tom enjoys reading, running, watching movies and spending time with his wife and their dog.
