Biography
Christin M. DewBerry is an attorney and counselor at Ven Johnson Law, where she represents individuals and families in civil rights, personal injury and negligence matters.
Christin focuses her practice on cases involving serious harm and contested liability, supporting the firm's trial work in matters where accountability is at issue. Her approach is shaped by early experience inside the federal court system and a strong foundation in litigation strategy.
During law school, Christin clerked for Judge Denise Page Hood of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, gaining foundational federal court experience that continues to inform her practice today. She also served as president of the Student Bar Association and as a student member of the Faculty Recruitment Committee. In her final year, she was selected by her peers to deliver the commencement address for the Law Class of 2024.
Christin earned her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Tennessee State University, where she interned with the Tennessee State Legislature. The recognition she received through Senate Resolution 52 solidified her decision to pursue a legal career. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
Outside of practicing law, Christin is committed to mentorship and works with current law students at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, attending sporting events and exploring new restaurants.
